Tour Plan
Fly from Addis Ababa to Arba Minch and meet your local guide upon arrival. Transfer to your hotel for breakfast and check-in. After lunch, begin your exploration with a visit to Forty Springs in Nech Sar National Park, a lush rainforest area that gave Arba Minch its name. Enjoy a gentle walk through the forest, spot colobus monkeys and bush pigs, and swim in the clear natural pool surrounded by greenery.
Later in the afternoon, drive to the Dorze highlands for a walking tour of Dorze villages. Visit traditional bamboo houses, learn how local families prepare bread from the false banana plant (enset), observe women spinning cotton, and watch skilled Dorze weavers at work. Return to Arba Minch in the evening.
After breakfast, drive to Lake Chamo for a boat excursion to the famous crocodile market, where large Nile crocodiles gather along the shore. During the boat trip, you may also spot hippos, fish eagles, and a variety of bird species.
Continue driving south to Konso, home to one of Ethiopia’s UNESCO World Heritage cultural landscapes. Explore a traditional Konso village and learn about their unique terraced farming system and social structure. See the famous generation poles, erected every 18 years to mark leadership transitions and record village history.
